Without surgery or anesthesia, the echotherapy targets the dysfunctional thyroid nodules allowing accurate treatment.
The treatment of thyroid nodules is performed by Echotherapy that uses high-intensity-focused-ultrasound (HIFU) for highly accurate treatment and ultrasound imaging for real-time visualization.
The echotherapy presents the following characteristics:
• It is a non-surgical non-invasive and radiation-free procedure. • Without required general anesthesia, the procedure us performed under local anesthesia or conscious sedation. • It is an out-patient procedure, with the patient coming in the morning and being discharged in the afternoon.
Transversal sonography scan and 123I thyroid scan in a 26 year-old-man with right toxic thyroid nodule obtained before HIFU and 18 months after HIFU(1).
